C.J.S Masterclass Mondays

(Please note - each course needs a minimum of five learners to run)

Cryptic Colouring
DURATION: Monday x 3 hrs
DATE: 23rd September 2019
TIME: 5.30pm – 8.30pm
COST: £60

DETAILS:
The science behind colouring hair is mind-blowing, let alone understanding the importance of depth, tone, ICC and the colour-star. Do you need help to gain the most from your in-salon colour range, or do you simply need the knowledge you have refreshing and/or reinforcing?
COURSE ENTRY:
As a minimum, completed Year 1 of a Level 2 Hairdressing course
Bring own salon shade guide with you, as well as notepad and pen

Precision Cutting
DURATION: Monday x 3 hrs
DATE: 30th September 2019
TIME: 5.30pm – 8.30pm
COST: £60

DETAILS:
This course is devoted to getting the most out of your scissors, comb and section clips. You will look at how to create balance, form and clean precision when creating heavy lines, graduation and layering.
COURSE ENTRY:
As a minimum, completed Year 1 of a Level 2 Hairdressing course
Possess own hairdressing kit and training head.

The Classic Up-do
DURATION: Monday x 3 hrs
DATE: 7th October 2019
TIME: 5.30pm – 8.30pm
COST: £60

DETAILS:
Learn the essential techniques that You Tube and Instagram tutorials just don’t show you. Step by step demo’s are used to completely breakdown all the basic hair methods you will need from securing the bands and grips, to creating a complete structured or soft up-do by the end of the session.
COURSE ENTRY:
As a minimum, completed Year 1 of a Level 2 Hairdressing course.
Possess own hairdressing kit and training head (can be provided) or bring own suitable model.

‘Board’ with Balayage
DURATION: Monday x 3 hrs
DATE: 14th October 2019
TIME: 5.30pm – 8.30pm
COST: £60

DETAILS:
Our course will teach you how to get a variety of both natural and high contrast results, using balayage boards, foils and your hands. These techniques can be picked up quickly and put to work straight away in the salon, even on the busiest of days.
COURSE ENTRY:
As a minimum, completed a Level 2 Hairdressing course.
Possess own hairdressing kit and training head.
Colouring resources will be provided.
You will be able to purchase ‘CJS balayage boards’ at the end of your course (additional cost).

The Skin Fade
DURATION: Monday x 3 hrs
DATE: 21st October 2019
TIME: 5.30pm – 8.30pm

DETAILS:
We are delighted to have this talented and unique Masterclass Mentor on board and are equally delighted to bring to you this specialist, hands-on, skin fade course that is tailor made for those wishing to learn or advance their clipper work and fading abilities.

Cutting Edge
DURATION: Monday x 3 hrs

Disconnection or Razoring got you overly thinking! This creative course is designed to take away any worries you might have as it expose’s you to new ideas and approaches in the latest in hair fashion trends.

In a World of Added Hair
DURATION: Monday x 3 hrs
DATE: 4th November 2019

DETAILS:
Delivered by an amazingly talented and extremely busy extension specialist, this course will guide you step by step into the world of Hair Extensions covering Health & Safety, client consultation, varieties of application techniques, sourcing and types of hair, matching hair
colour, blending and removal.
COURSE ENTRY:
As a minimum, completed Year 1 of a Level 2 Hairdressing course.
Possess own hairdressing kit and training head.
Added hair will be provided.

Added Hair Application
DURATION: Monday x 5 hrs
DATE: 11th November 2019
TIME: 9.30am – 2.30pm

DETAILS:
Prior to confirming your place, you will determine which application method you wish to focus on, and work towards completing to a good standard during the session. You will build on your basic knowledge, improving your skills to deliver the best results on your clients.
COURSE ENTRY:
As a minimum, completed Year 1 of a Level 2 Hairdressing course
Completed ‘In a world of added hair’ course
Possess own hairdressing kit and training head or model, added hair will be provided.

Signature Styling
DURATION: Monday x 3 hrs
DATE: 18th November 2019
TIME: 5.30pm – 8.30pm

DETAILS:
This course will teach you how to take a variety of both ‘vintage’ and ‘retro’ styling techniques and learn to create the up-do fashion images of today. You will look at the differences between the two terms, discover how today’s trends and fashion influences are constantly borrowed from the past, as well as experience the triumph of completing a few of these looks.
COURSE ENTRY:
As a minimum, completed a full Level 2 Hairdressing course
Possess own hairdressing kit and training head (can be provided) or bring own model

Before the Mad Rush
DURATION: Monday x 2.5 hrs
DATE: 25th November 2019
TIME: 6.00pm – 8.30pm

DETAILS:
This evening is a ticket only event for our ‘fully qualified’ local community of Hairdressers and Barbers. It is an evening to bask in the calm before the storm, to chat amongst your colleagues and to share good practice to ensure we continue working together for the good of our trade, industry and community. Kay, from The Retreat Beauty Salon in Barnstaple will be on hand to offer skin care advice as well as bringing a selection of products/gifts for you to buy for your Christmas 'bags'. A representative from PHAB will also be present to discuss the latest Christmas deals and/or to take any last-minute stock orders.

Manage or own salon, be a Senior Stylist, Stylist, Master Barber or Barber

This course will reveal the key methods of partial colouring, demonstrating; foil sectioning, placement, slicing, weaving, folding and sealing on a range of hair lengths. Feel energised and confident when creating low or high impact colours.

Fades are a mainstream style that has been around for generations, but it is one of the most important skills and possibly one of the hardest to perform to a high standard. Our course gives you an introduction to this current and popular technique.

Short & Sassy
DURATION: Sunday x 3 hours

It is a privilege to bring this dedicated, talented and professional Masterclass Mentor to you. His course is designed to give you the confidence to master short hair cutting; firstly concentrating on the head shape, directional sectioning, moving and static guidelines so that you can then add your own creativity and personalise the style to suit each client.
